Dumpster Rental in Compton, CA

Compton’s own Waste Division rents temporary roll-off bins. Here are the sizes, the seven-day rule and how to plan your project.

Compton is a central LA County city with neighborhoods such as Richland Farms (known for its large agricultural lots), Sunny Cove, Leland and the areas near Compton College and the Gateway Towne Center. Projects include remodels, ADUs, yard and lot cleanouts and roof replacements.

In Compton, temporary roll-off bins are not an open market. The City of Compton Waste Division rents temporary roll-off bins itself (see its Temporary Services page). The city’s C&D waste plan form also points construction projects to a City-approved hauler. Because of that, the list below is short on purpose: we only show providers the city itself points to, not every company that advertises Compton online.

Compton dumpster permit rules

The Waste Division’s temporary bins are rented for up to seven days and paid in advance at the Waste Division office in City Hall. Sizes are 4 yards (up to about 800 lb), 10 yards (dirt, concrete or asphalt), 25 yards (roofing) and 40 yards (general cleanup). For construction projects, Compton’s Building and Safety Department requires a C&D Waste Management Plan (Form B-001) with the building permit. Ask the Waste Division if street placement needs any extra approval.

Private driveway? A bin placed completely on private property (your driveway or yard) usually does not need a street permit. You need one when any part of the container sits on the street, sidewalk or parkway. HOA or property-manager rules can still apply. See our driveway placement guide.

  • Richland Farms lots: Big lots usually have room to keep the bin on your property.
  • Choose by debris: The city’s 10-yard bin is for dirt, concrete or asphalt, and its 25-yard bin is for roofing. Sort before you order.
  • Seven-day window: Have your crew ready before delivery.
